Lab Director, Metabolomics
Location: Lausanne region

An innovative life sciences organisation is partnering with our agency to appoint a Lab Director to lead a metabolomics laboratory focused on biomarker discovery and molecular analysis. This is a high-impact role where you will take ownership of lab operations, build scalable workflows, and ensure delivery of high-quality, decision-ready data for research and development programs.
You will play a key role in shaping laboratory performance, driving efficiency, and supporting the transition toward regulated environments while maintaining scientific excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Leadership
Oversee daily lab operations, including scheduling, capacity planning, method development, vendor coordination, and compliance with safety standards. Ensure instruments and workflows operate efficiently with a strong focus on reliability and throughput.
Metabolomics & Biomarker Discovery
Lead end-to-end LC-MS-based metabolomics workflows, both targeted and untargeted, from sample preparation through to data analysis and reporting. Design and manage biomarker discovery studies with a focus on reproducibility, data quality, and scientific rigour.
Team and Stakeholder Management
Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to translate project goals into actionable lab plans, communicating progress, risks, and outcomes clearly.
Requirements
CRO Laboratory Leadership Experience
Proven experience managing a mass spectrometry laboratory within a CRO or similar fast-paced environment, with strong operational ownership.
Untargeted Metabolomics Expertise
Hands-on experience in LC-MS-based untargeted metabolomics and biomarker discovery, including study design, data processing, and interpretation.
Technical and Operational Strength
Strong background in sample preparation, LC-MS workflows, and method development, combined with experience implementing SOPs and maintaining high-quality standards in evolving regulatory environments.
