Job Description:

Group Accountant / Controller

Our client, a leading international player in the aviation services and engineering sector, offers you the chance to take end‑to‑end ownership of group consolidation and Swiss entity accounting in a dynamic, fast‑growing environment. Operating at the forefront of bespoke, high-end aviation projects, this organization delivers complex solutions to a global clientele and empowers finance specialists to grow into true business partners. You will work at the core of Group Accounting: producing consolidated financials under Swiss GAAP FER, supporting planning processes (budget, business plans, forecasts), and driving key initiatives that enhance processes, controls, and reporting across the group.

Benefits

* Real ownership & visibility: Responsibility for group consolidation and the Swiss main entity’s financial statements with strong exposure to senior stakeholders.
* Modern, international setup: Work with foreign subsidiaries, enjoy flexible working conditions, competitive compensation, and modern offices in Basel.
* Motivated, small team: Join a young, enthusiastic finance team with close collaboration across departments and with external specialists.

Role Responsibilities

* Group consolidation and reporting
* Prepare and coordinate the consolidated financial statements of the group in accordance with Swiss GAAP FER.
* Perform and monitor intercompany reconciliations and ensure consistency of reporting across all subsidiaries.
* Produce accurate and timely group reports to support management and stakeholders.
* Swiss main entity accounting and compliance
* Manage monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities for the Swiss parent company.
* Handle VAT declarations, tax-related matters and statutory obligations under Swiss regulations.
* Ensure the quality, accuracy and completeness of the local books and records.
* Planning, projects and internal controls
* Participate in the preparation of budgets, business plans and financial forecasts.
* Further develop and maintain the Group Accounting Manual and the Internal Control System (ICS).
* Lead or support finance-related improvement projects to enhance efficiency, transparency and control.

Requirements

Education and professional background

* Swiss Certified fiduciary/accounting specialist, Swiss Certified Expert in Accounting & Controlling, or university/college degree in economics or finance (or an equivalent qualification recognized in Switzerland).
* At least 2 years of professional experience in accounting and controlling within Switzerland, ideally in a dynamic or international setting.

Technical skills and expertise

* In-depth understanding of accounting principles, cost calculations and percentage-of-completion (POC) methods.
* Practical experience with Swiss GAAP FER and Swiss Code of Obligations.
* Very good Excel skills; experience with financial tools such as Lucanet and Abacus is a plus.

Languages and personal competencies

* Fluent in German and English; French is an advantage.
* Service-oriented, proactive and able to work independently as well as in a team.
* Comfortable in a fast-growing, international environment and willing to travel occasionally to subsidiaries.
