Road Freight Operator

Road Freight Operator – 1 Years’ Experience Required – South Manchester - Permanent Role.

Salary: up to £34,000PA

Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30





Silver Arrow require an experienced Road Freight Operator to work for a Freight Forwarding company based in the South Manchester area.
This role focuses on managing and coordinating road freight consignments importing into the UK from Europe, ensuring shipments move efficiently, compliantly and within agreed timeframes. The successful candidate will play a key role in day to day operations, acting as a main point of contact for customers, hauliers and internal teams.



Your Role:

* Deal with the processing of consignments arriving to the UK by road from Europe.
* Booking deliveries, prepare import documents and ensure the smooth movement of goods within specified timeframes.
* Track and trace shipments, proactively identifying and resolving any issues or delays.
* Deal with General Administration such as POD handling, invoicing, filing, queries etc.
* Ensure shipping invoices & packing are accurate.
* Liaise with clients to understand their land transportation requirements and provide suitable solutions.
* Stay updated with industry regulations, compliance requirements, and transportation trends, ensuring adherence to legal and safety standards.



What we need from you:

* At least 1 years’ experience working as a Road Freight Operator.
* Be proficient in using transportation management systems (TMS), freight management software and other relevant tools.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, carriers, and internal teams.
* Good administrative skills
* Problem solving mindset with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
